Dumb questions to ask your boyfriend (he answers seriously)
The dumber the question, the more seriously he thinks about it. Here are dumb questions to ask your boyfriend tonight, sorted by how much trouble you want, plus how to ask them so he plays along.
Dumb questions to ask your boyfriend are short, ridiculous questions with one vivid image and no right answer: would he still love you as a lighthouse, how many raccoons could he out-stare. Ask them deadpan, take his answer seriously. Here are 14 to start tonight; the decks have hundreds more in the capybara cards app.
Dumb questions to ask your boyfriend are the easiest game there is. You ask something ridiculous with a straight face, he treats it like a job interview, and ten minutes later you are arguing about whether a lighthouse can be a girlfriend.
The trick is to be specific. "What if I was an animal" gets a shrug. "What if I was a raccoon who only steals your left shoes" gets a plan. One vivid image per question, and ask it like you genuinely need to know.
Four sets below: the plain dumb ones, dumb ones that annoy him a little, dumb ones that make him laugh, and dumb debates he will defend to the end. Pick one set per night; the whole list at once turns into a quiz.
Dumb questions to ask your boyfriend
Start here. Deadpan delivery, no explaining.
- Would you still love me if I turned into a lighthouse, and you had to visit me by boat?
- How many raccoons could you beat in a staring contest before one of them wins?
- If my laugh became a car alarm sound, would you still take me to the movies?
- If I could only wear socks on my hands for a year, would you still hold my hand?
More of these are in the Would You Still Love Me If deck in the app. 156 more cards are in the Would You Still Love Me If... deck.

Dumb questions to ask your boyfriend to annoy him
These have a tiny trap inside. He will notice halfway through his answer, and then he will try to renegotiate the terms, which is the whole show. Keep your face still and say "those are the rules" as many times as needed.
- If I renamed every contact in your phone to "babe", how long until you give up and keep it?
- If your favorite snack was discontinued and I had the last box, what is your offer?
- Would you rather I sang the wrong lyrics to every song, loudly, or corrected your lyrics every time?

Dumb questions to ask your boyfriend to make him laugh
Pure nonsense. The goal is the face he makes.
- If our toaster could file a complaint about us, what is it filing first?
- If your left foot became a skateboard permanently, do you still take the stairs?
- What would your walk-out song be if you were a professional napper?
- If a goose knocked on the door and asked for you by name, what did you do?
More ridiculous what-ifs are in the Would You Still Love Me If deck in the app. 156 more cards are in the Would You Still Love Me If... deck.
Dumb debates he will defend forever
Give him a side and watch him build a whole case, with sources he is making up on the spot. These work best at dinner with other people around, because now he has an audience and no way back. Here is what a good answer sounds like.
- Is cereal a soup, and would you say that in front of my family at breakfast?
Example answer: "It is a cold soup, I stand by it, and I would like more of it please."
- Do fish get thirsty, and does your answer change if the fish is in a glass?
- Is a staircase just a very slow slide?
More fake arguments are in the Hot Takes deck in the app. 90 more cards are in the Hot Takes deck.
How to make it a game
The mistake most people make is asking ten dumb questions in a row. Ask one, let him finish, then add a follow-up that treats his answer as fact. The second question lands harder when the first one had a real conclusion.
Keep a straight face and treat every answer as official. If he gives a boring answer, ask a follow-up ("which boat?"). Swap roles every few questions so he gets to ask you something dumb too, and keep score of who laughs first. Three rounds is plenty for one night.
If you want the next question without inventing it, keep a deck open on your phone and let him swipe. The surprise is better when neither of you knows what is coming.
Quick answers
What are good dumb questions to ask your boyfriend?
The good ones have one vivid, ridiculous image (a raccoon, a giant sock, a talking fridge) and no right answer, so he has to commit to something silly out loud. Short questions work best.
How do I ask dumb questions without him rolling his eyes?
Ask one at a time, deadpan, as if you genuinely need the answer, and take his reply seriously. The second you laugh first, the game is over.
Where can I get more dumb questions?
The capybara cards app has the full Would You Still Love Me If and Would You Rather decks, hundreds of questions, so you tap for the next one instead of making it up.
