How to ask without it feeling like a quiz

• Set the scene first: dim light, phones face down, no rush. Spicy questions fall flat under kitchen lights at 6 PM.
• Answer every question yourself, and go first when your partner hesitates. Honesty is contagious in both directions.
• Stop while it is still fun. Four or five good spicy questions beat fifteen rushed ones, and leaving a few unanswered gives you something for tomorrow night.
